Corona Protocol Spirited Union Distillery Experience

Spirited Union follows the RIVM (the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment) hygiene guidelines and the corona regulations set up by the government of the Netherlands. Spirited Union has taken some precautions, one being the set-up of a protocol to minimize the risk of exposure to the virus, to ensure safety of the employees and visitors. This protocol is changed when the measurements are changed by the government or the city of Amsterdam.

The guidelines regarding corona rules are provided by Spirited Union via the website. Prior to the tour, the visitors receive an email with the guidelines and rules to ensure a safe visit for themselves and our tour guides.

1. Venue

1.1 Capacity

Maximum number of visitors are allowed inside.

The capacity and a maximum number of visitors allowed in the distillery at the same time, based on 1 person or 1 household (max 3 people) per 10m2, will be indicated in the distillery. The tasting room is 33m2 (bar excluded), allowing a maximum of 10 people and one employee in the room. When this number is reached, guests are redirected to the distillery. The distillery counts for 90m2, allowing a maximum of 30 visitors and one employee in the room. Nevertheless, fewer people are preferred to allow walking around the distilling equipment.

1.2. Ventilation

Since the tour and workshop take place in a room without windows, the ventilation system is activated before. When enabled, the air is completely refreshed in the duration of an hour. As a distillery, we are obligated to have the best ventilation system installed.

1.3. Toilets

There are two toilets available in the building. These can be used when necessary by the guests. The staff will provide them with directions and pay attention the maximum of two per toilet is not exceeded.

The towels have been replaced by paper tissues for hygienical reasons. Soap is available at every sink. Also, the toilet is cleaned more often than usual.

1.4. Routing

To avoid traffic on the stairs to the toilet, a sign has been placed to emphasize the way downstairs has priority over the way going upstairs. Visitors are requested to check first if the stairs are free.

1.5. Disclaimer

Visitors book a tour and visit the distillery at their own risk. They can only visit when healthy. We cannot be hold responsible if someone is exposed to the virus.

2. Visitors

2.1. Registration

The digital booking system provides us with all the personal details to get in contact with them in case we have questions, change of schedule, or have to run a contact inquiry.

Visitors that booked a tour or workshop are requested to show up no earlier than 10 minutes prior the start time of the tour.

2.2. Timeslots

Capacity is ensured by timeslots to avoid groups getting into contact with each other. Between every activity is a 30-minute space, in case of any delays and intensive cleaning of the equipment.

2.3. Health Check

The tour guides are instructed to check whether the visitors have had symptoms of the coronavirus.

– In the past 10 days, have you experienced any symptoms of the coronavirus such as a fever, cough, and nausea?

– In the past 10 days, have you been in contact with someone that has the corona virus?

If any of the questions are answered with a ‘yes’, the visitor is requested to leave and reschedule the tour to another day. No additional costs will be charged.

2.4. Face Masks

As advised by the government, every visitor is obligated to wear a mask inside the building, until a spot has been assigned. It is then allowed to take the mask off. However, when leaving the spot, the face masks have to be put on again. In case a guest did not bring a face mask, they can purchase one with our staff.
