How to start a Private Label at Spirited Union Distillery?
A fast and average private label project takes about 5 months from intake till the production stage. We’ve created a timeline to give you an idea of the process.
Intake
After filling out our standard intake form, the intake phase contains 3 stages and will take a maximum of three weeks depending on the go or no go from the client;
Week 1 – A 30 minutes online meeting with our distiller.
Week 2 – Our estimated quotation.
Week 3 – Go or no go given by the client.
Recipe development
After a go from the client the recipe development stage will begin and consists of 5 stages;
Week 3 till 6 – Sourcing ingredients/materials.
Week 7 & 8 – Developing sample V1.
Week 9 – Feedback sample V1.
Week 10 & 11 – When sample V1 is not approved, preparing sample V2.
Week 12 – Feedback sample V2.
Week 13 & 14 – When sample V2 is not approved, preparing sample V3.
Week 15 – Feedback sample V3 – Go or No Go.
Packaging & design
When the client approves the sample and the recipe phase 3 starts;
Week 8 & 9 – Materials selection.
Week 8 till 13 – Brand & Label design (concept, artwork, delivery).
Week 14 – Labels artwork approval (designer & printer) + second quotation.
Week 15 till 17 – Order & Print labels and shipper cases.
Week 15 till 18 – Order bottles, corks/stopper + capsule.
Production
The final phase;
Week 19 & 20 – Production.
Week 21 – Ready for collection/delivery & final quotation.
