UVA Highlands is an estate situated in the UVA region of Eastern Sri Lanka. It has a reputation as one of the best tea growing regions in the country. Grown between 1,500 to 2,000 meters above sea level, the climate conditions make this tea exceptionally well balanced with a strong, high-grown full-flavour. Picked in the dry season between June and September, this black tea has a unique character of its own with some distinct menthol notes combining a perfect harmony with the other ingredients and accentuating the distinct grassy, citrus flavour of our Mauritian rum. All together it creates a light and minty unity.
Fun fact: Ceylon Black tea increases the number of white blood cells meaning it aids in the fighting of fevers, coughs, colds and the flu.
