The story of
Aruba Ariba

This festive rum celebrates the island’s happy island vibes, friendly people and laidback living in a single drink or moment. We present a retake on the local favourite Aruba Ariba cocktail. By uniting Caribbean aged rum with discarded banana peels, sweet orange and a touch of sun toasted coconut flakes, we’ve created the perfect rum as a base for the famous Aruba Ariba cocktail.

Inspired by the original 1963 cocktail recipe, we’ve infused a Caribbean rum with the taste of ripe bananas, vanilla and sweet oranges.  It’s a rum based drink that celebrates Aruba’s carnival spirit, its happy island vibes, friendly people and layback living.

The history of the

ARUBA ARIBA

In 1959, a time before the big tourism boom, Aruba opened the first luxurious hotel; Aruba Caribbean hotel later known as the Hilton Aruba. This is where  Juan “Jocky” Tromp, who was 24 at the time, participated in and won the first cocktail competition on the island.

During the competition (1st of July 1963) he presented the Aruba Ariba cocktail, a variation on the rum punch, made with rum, vodka, banana liquor, fruitpunch and kukuï liqueur. This eventually turned into the classic Aruba Ariba cocktail served all over the island today.

A rum that pays tribute to Aruba's

CARNIVAL SPIRIT

“Growing up on the Island of Aruba and working in some of the best bars and restaurants made me feel passionate and patriotic about the Aruba Ariba Cocktail. A cocktail that withstood the test of time for over 60 years. It’s why we’ve re-created this Aruban carnival spirit.”
