For a rich texture and well-rounded mouthfeel, we have diluted our rum with fresh coconut water down to the perfect mixing strength.
Our Coconut Rum is crafted from coconuts grown in the warm, humid tropics, specifically within 1,000 kilometers of the equator, with coconuts sourced from Brazil, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines. Since coconuts don’t grow in our latitudes, minimal CO2 emissions are ensured by extracting and flash-freezing the coconut water at the source, rather than transporting whole coconuts, to maintain the best quality.
Destilería Sofa, located in Venezuela’s Aragua Valley, has been crafting rum with exceptional care since 1796. Their white rum has a clean, crisp flavour, featuring notes of citrus, vanilla, and tropical fruits. This rum offers a smooth and slightly sweet taste. The distillation process uses locally grown sugar cane, ensuring the highest purity and quality.
In addition to producing world-class rum, Destilería Sofa is deeply committed to social responsibility. Their initiatives focus on rehabilitating former gang members through vocational training, psychological support, and sports, benefiting over 200 ex-gang members and 2,000 youth participants. These programmes have successfully extended to 34 penitentiary centres across Venezuela, showcasing the distillery’s dedication to positively impacting the community.
The Dominican Republic has a long history of rum production dating back to the colonial era. This deep-rooted tradition contributes to the expertise and craftsmanship seen in Dominican rums.
Established in 2009, this prominent distillery in the Higuano region of the Dominican Republic is recognised as the most modern in the Caribbean, owning energy autonomy. Another facility, located in San Pedro de Macorís, specialises in the production and aging of rum, ensuring that their rums are 100% Dominican in origin by sourcing high-quality raw materials locally. The collaboration between these two combines modern distillation techniques with traditional processes to produce high-quality Dominican rums.
Their white rum has a bright and refreshing character, offering notes of green apple, grassy undertones, and a hint of fresh herbs. The rum is distilled from locally grown sugar cane, ensuring exceptional purity and quality.
To add to the tropical character of the rum, we have fat-washed the rum with sundried, toasted coconut flakes. Fat-washing is done by cold infusing our rum with sundried coconut flakes. This passive extraction methods slowly absorbs flavours from the coconut and infuses it into our rum, resulting in a rich, cloudy and fatty liquid that adds a creamy texture to the rum.
